PUBLIC EDUCATION - SCHEDULE
Our Flotilla is formulating its plans for its
year 2010 series of boating safety classes. At this time
no events are scheduled. We are in the process of scheduling additional classes, and hope to offer classes also in northern Door County and in Algoma.
About Boating Safely (ABS) (Formerly entitled "America's Boating Course")
Boater Safety Course
America’s Boating Course is an
8 hour program. This is a vital course for any boater. The course
covers boat handling, trailering, navigation rules, VHF radio, and
safe boating practices. Successful completion of this course
satisfies WI education requirements and may qualify for boating
insurance discounts.
Technically
there is no age limit to take this course. The student should be
old enough to comprehend the materials, be comfortable in a
classroom environment for several hours and be able to take the
exam. To obtain certification, students must be 12 years old.
