Wisconsin law now requires that all persons born after January 1, 1989, must pass an approved boating safety course and have a DNR certificate in order to operate a vessel equipped with a motor or engine on Wisconsin waters. We offer Public Education courses that will qualify you for the State certificate.
We offer vessel examinations ("Vessel Safety Checks" - VSC's) to help you make sure your boat is both safe and legal. We check to see that all required and recommended equipment is on board and in good condition to keep you safe. Please check our 2009 vessel exam schedule for dates and locations of planned Vessel Safety Check events.
There are many safety tips that can keep you both safe and alive. Click here to see our Safety Tips page for some important safety considerations.
We invite you to listen to public announcements about a variety of boating topics. Link to Public Announcements page
